The jury composed of the following people: dr Marek Krajewski, Robert Rumas, Jarosław Suchan, Dr. Bettina Wolter, Hanna Wróblewska decided to award the main prize to Elżbieta Jabłońska for her social commitment and sensitivity, for allowing those who are excluded and marginalized to speak through her art. For several years now, Elżbieta Jabłońska has been consistently serving her viewers, offering them not only pretexts for reflection but also for sense experience and impressions. Despite the fact that her works touch on the core and often painful issues of our identity, they have a form that assumes a dialogue with the recipient, allows conversation and understanding. Although first of all she speaks of all that is local, the language she uses is universal. We grant this award also for consistency in following her own artistic way, for escaping from classifications that make order in this world, in the name of a dialogue. We hope that thanks to this award Elżbieta Jabłońska’s art will find its due appreciation also outside of the local context.
