Eleonora Plutyńska – from textiles to industrial artistic design – a tour of a section of the exhibition “The Splendour of Textiles” with Anna Demska
The meeting will concern the impact of Eleonora Plutyńska on the development of Polish artists working with textiles, and her role as a teacher, mentor and friend. Regarding the work of Plutyńska and several other leading artists of the postwar period, the speaker will try to answer the question of where is the border between artistic textiles and the industrial production of fabric.
Anna Demska – b. 1960, curator at the Center of Modern Design at the National Museum in Warsaw, a specialist in modern, unique and printed fabrics. She is interested in Polish folk art and the role it plays in the decorative arts and design.
