Exhibitions:
Everything Is Art to Me. An Exhibition for Children
This exhibition has been put together primarily for children and parents, as well as those who do not feel comfortable in contemporary art galleries. It is intended to encourage those who do not understand modern art, or are ashamed to admit it. The exhibition aims not only to familiarise visitors with the way of thinking and work of contemporary artists, but also to convince them (especially the youngest ones) that you can talk about art using normal language, discovering in it things close to us all. Through interactive and workshop elements, the project will also encourage children to engage in creative activity.
The Future Will Be Different. Visions and Practices of Social Modernisation after 1918
An exhibition devoted to the interwar period in Poland, with a narrative built around the key social ideas that were born after the country regained its independence in 1918. The modernizing ideas, focusing around the needs of previously underprivileged social groups — women, children, workers and ethnic minorities — will be shown through the perspective of the broadly understood visual culture of this time (from architecture and design to the most modern medium of the time, film).
Guided tour:
As part of The Long Night of Museums we invite you to join a guided tour of our current exhibitions: The Future Will Be Different. Visions and Practices of Social Modernisation after 1918 and Everything Is Art to Me. An Exhibition for Children. The guided tour in English will start at 9.30 p.m. in the main hall of Zachęta. We also encourage you to go and visit the Zachęta Project Room (Gałczyńskiego 3 | 15-minute walk from Zachęta), a laboratory-space that serves as a platform for artistic experiments.

Exhibition:
Anna Panek, Won Seoung Won.Unexpected encounter
Work on the Unexpected Encounter exhibition started with a meeting. Kko-Kka Lee, a curator from Seoul, who was in Warsaw on a research, gave Magda Kardasz, curator of the Zachęta Project Room, a presentation of her favourite artists from Korea. In turn, Magda presented them to Anna Panek, a Warsaw artist with whom she had been planning an exhibition for some time. The artist liked the idea of establishing a dialogue with another artist, and she chose Won Seoung Won, who also agreed to take up the challenge. This was the story behind the ‘unexpected encounter’ of two fully fledged artists from distant cultures.

Sorja Morja will play at 8 p.m.
