Выставка «Между коллективизмом и индивидуализмом — японский авангард 50-х и 60-х гг. ХХ века» впервые показывает японское искусство времён ключевых изменений для страны и её культуры. Под влиянием военного опыта, а также глобализации, художники исследовали новые виды искусства и художественные стратегии. На выставке представлена живопись, скульптура, инсталляция, фотография, видео-арт, а также обширная документация перформансов и акций. Различные новаторские коллективные практики представлены такими японскими художественными группами как Jikken Kōbō (Экспериментальная Студия), Демократическая Ассоциация Художников, арт-группа Гутай, Kyūshū-ha (Группа из Кюсю) и коллектив фотографов Vivo. В 60-х годах кроме старшего поколения появляются новые коллективы, такие как Neo Dada, Zero Jigen, Hi Red Center, The Play, GUN (Grupa Ultra Niigata), Bikyōtō и Provoke.

    Between Collectivism and Individualism —
    Japanese Avant-garde in the 1950s and the 1960s

    The exhibition presents, for the first time in Poland, avant-garde Japanese art from two historical decades, a time of ground-breaking events and transformations that resulted in the emergence of the Japan we know today. It features works by the most important artists of the time, rarely shown outside Japan, and documentation of the avant-garde movements of the time.
