Good Times, Bad Times, the title of Anna Jermolaewa’s first solo exhibition in Poland, was borrowed from one of her photograph series that captures an everyday situation in urban life: on a gray facade, pigeons sitting on the hands of a large clock reveal that ‘quarter to three’ is a better ‘time’ than ‘five to five.’ The title also refers to the German TV soap opera Gute Zeiten, schlechte Zeiten that has been broadcast since 1992.

This publication focuses on artworks Jermolaewa created over the last five years and includes some of her most personal work. It also features projects about social and political issues in Russia, as well as works that deal with the ups and downs of life; its setbacks and small successes. Includes texts on the construction of interspecies relationships in Jermolaewa’s art by Andrea B. Braidt, the artist’s shifting attitude to art and politics by Ekaterina Degot, and conversations with the artist, and with psychologist Valeria Mukhina.
