Katarzyna Kozyra’s film was made as part of the In Art Dreams Come True project. It is set in a fairy-tale convention that turns into a gore horror in the finale. The action takes place in a house and garden where a group of short-statured women live an idyllic life. Their harmonious and orderly world is magically disrupted by the arrival of Maestro, Gloria Viagra and the artist herself, dressed as Alice in Wonderland. At first the newcomers arouse curiosity and are treated with hospitality and kindness, but their otherness violates the unwritten rules of life in this fairy-tale world and leads to tragedy. Behind the veneer of free-spirited behaviour, good-naturedness and openness lies hatred and fear of outsiders. Music is the language in which the characters communicate – they express their emotions through opera arias.
