The work was created during the residency of Adam Witkowski, Anna Witkowska and Krzysztof Topolski at the Kronika Centre for Contemporary Art in Bytom in 2006. The artists noted a popular style of curatorial text at the time, which tended to begin with the statement: ‘The exhibition is an attempt . . . ’, so they decided to organise an exhibition under this title. Witkowski associated it with a band rehearsal. He dumped 100 kg of potatoes on a drum set, resulting in a chaotic musical composition. This also alludes to the term ‘potato drop’, which in Polish metal music means playing dense fills.
