A presentation at the Zachęta workshop room recapitulates project Musical Images in which students of one of Warsaw’s secondary schools participated throughout the school year as part of an individually. The meetings at Zachęta provided an opportunity to become familiar with new instrumental techniques, contemporary composers and musical literaturę in confrontation with art history and contemporary art works.

The exhibition explores the paradigm shift of “being an artist”. During the past 20 years, artists have been forced to redefine their place on the map of social roles and economical interdependences. A stark example of this transformation that took on quite a radical form was the artists' strike in May 2012, initiated by the Civic Forum for Contemporary Art. This topic constructed a bracket for this exhibition that was largely inspired by the libretto of the first national German opera by Carl Maria von Weber's entitles Freelancer (premiered in 1821).

A monographic exhibition of the work of an artist who made his debut in the 80s as the founder and leader of the legendary Wrocław group Luxus. In addition to documentation of the artist’s early works (principally drawings and comics), we also present paintings from the last fifteen years. Pastiches in a pop art poetics, the use of templates created from press photos, ornaments or plants, references to a wide spectrum of pop culture, the history of art and politics, as well as humorous slogans easy on the ear… these are just a few of the features of this intelligent and provocative art.
