Vivian Caccuri: Talking Machine is at the same time a lecture and a sound performance that makes use of the history of the vynil records in Brazil, from its first entrepreneurs to the most contemporary experiments proposed by visual artists. Talking Machine remixes recordings, the texture of their original medium as well as information to produce a new accoustic experience.
Vivian Caccuri – born in 1986, São Paulo. She graduated in Visual Arts at Universidade Estadual Paulista (UNESP) in São Paulo (2007) and mastered in Sound Studies at Universidade Federal (UFRJ) w Rio de Janeiro (2011). Her work creates relationships between language and sound recordings, architecture, voice and the imagination. Through drawing, performances, objects and montages, she has worked on the acoustic aspect of public spaces. Lives and works in Rio de Janeiro.
