The picnic on Malachowski Square will mark the symbolic start of summer. On that day, the downtown square will become a place for cooperation, respite and building mutual neighbourly relations. Together, we will recharge our batteries for the coming summer! This year's picnic will be held under the theme of vitality and boosting urban energy, fuelled by the return of sunny days and long, warm evenings.

Picnic activities will take place in the public space of the square area, in the form of walks or movement practices. The programme will include guided tours of current exhibitions and visits to places not normally accessible. The energy of neighbourhood institutions is the starting point for an open programme that will introduce the local history of this part of the city centre, show the value of the architectural and landscape fabric of the area, draw attention to issues of ecology and urban flora and fauna, offering a respite from the intensity and noise of the city centre.

This will be complemented by an offer of art and nature workshops organised by the Zachęta and Ethnographic Museum's educational team, the Centrala design group and the naturalist Michał Książek. The event will conclude with a concert by Ayoub Houmann, a singer from Morocco, and Noums Dembele, an instrumentalist from Burkina Faso, who, together with their band, will bring us closer to the atmosphere of summer sunny days.
