Make Like a Tree is a project combining music and photography, inspired by long travels around the world. The project was created by Sergey Onischenko, a wanderer from Ukraine who hitch-hikes and uses this as a means for spreading his indie-folk tunes. Each of them was recorded in a different part of the world. Experiments with sounds and collaborations with the audience can turn this one-man-band into a duo or into a considerably larger improvisation ensemble. Make Like a Tree will take us on a sound voyage into the spaces of nature: of forests, mountains and oceans.
The LP Animal was released in 2015 following a two-and-a-half-year journey through 13 countries, from Ukraine to New Zealand. In 2013, Sergey Onischenko left his home town, Kharkiv, and that was the beginning of the journey he had always dreamt about. From that moment, he has played 250 concerts in 200 cities and visited Russia, China, Vietnam, Cambodia, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Australia and many other countries. The artist started working on the LP while staying in Bali, where he recorded three songs in a self-constructed studio in a house near the ocean. The other songs were made in Auckland, New Zealand, Russia and Ukraine.

Habima Fuchs defines her exhibitions as an open field throughout which the viewer can take an infinite number of trips. The same is true for the show at the Zachęta Project Room. The gallery space is like a sheet of paper on which the author’s hand draws/arranges various visual or spatial elements.
