How is an exhibition produced?

Answers to these and other art questions can be found in the series of 11 educational films about contemporary art created by Zachęta and pleple.tv*.  All these captivating and exciting tales, such as To pee in a bun – what happens to Zachęta’s collection when no one is looking?, or All creatures great & small – is the curator a predator?, and the remaining nine films are inspired by exhibitions shown at Zachęta.

If you look for longer, can you see more? Do you have to watch the work from the beginning in order to understand it? We want to comment on and compile video artwork from our collection in such a way that they can be an interesting and engaging addition to any arts and humanities class; Artur Żmijewski’s Singing Lesson 2, Joanna Rajkowska’s Camping Jenin, Paweł Kruk’s Larger than Life or any of the other hundred videos in Zachęta’s collection.

In the Q&A ART LOUNGE we need your comments: pose your questions, share your opinions and views. We will screen for you 15 films in 9 different combinations. On a blank piece of paper you can write your reviews, comments, questions, interpretations and thoughts. The most interesting, helpful and outstanding questionnaires will be awarded with exhibition catalogues or annual season tickets to Zachęta.

In the Q&A ART LOUNGE, for free you can:

  • watch video artworks from Zachęta’s collection/ according to the schedule
  • watch educational films/ choose one of 11 topics
  • fill out a questionnaire for the upcoming exhibition No, no I hardly miss a show, which will open in December and in return you will receive a free ticket to Zachęta’s current exhibitions.

The educational films were developed within the framework of the Orange Academy.

*pleple.tv is a group of enthusiasts (Monika Weychert Waluszko, Ziemowit Jaworski and Dawid Sokołowski) who over the past two years have produced a number of educational films, mainly about contemporary art.
