Publication of the book that commemorates the 100th birthday of Henry Tomaszewski coincides with the exhibition “I’ve Been Here; I Hope the Same for You. Henryk Tomaszewski” organized by Zachęta – National Gallery of Art. This publication is a first, such complete and comprehensive book on Henryk Tomaszewski - an outstanding graphic artist, book designer, co-founder of the Polish School of Posters, a cartoonist and a professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. Texts by Iwona Kurz, Katarzyna Matul, Piotr Rypson and exhibition’s curator Agnieszka Szewczyk deal with numerous aspects of his work. The book includes all of Tomaszewski’s posters, complete biography , an exhaustive bibliography that includes books and book series designed by him, and foremost, extremely captivating visual materials.
