The book accompanies and complements the exhibition. The publication consists of essays discussing the topic of wealth from many perspectives, showing visual representations of wealth in the cinema and television (Jakub Socha) or fashion as an indicator of status (Agata Zborowska). The phenomena of luxury and consumption from the Polish perspective are also discussed (Urszula Jarecka) as well as various aspects of success (Jolanta Gładys-Jakóbik). Ziemowit Szczerek outlines the anthropological, historical and geopolitical context of the Polish (‘poor’) wealth. Curators Magdalena Komornicka and Katarzyna Kołodziej address the problem of the financial situation of artists themselves, as well as of virtual money and the dematerialisation of wealth.
